Beauty and the Beast
What a wonderful finale to 4 weeks hard work! To see so many
parents, governors and friends of the school in our audiences made the
performances really happy occasions for both the children and adults
together. The talent displayed by the boys and girls in both
performances was amazing – the acting, the singing, the musicians, the
dancing and of course the back stage team. Very well done to you
all and thank you for the fun.
A very big thank you goes to Mrs. Ord, Mrs. Robertson, Mrs. Osborn,
Mrs. Davies and Mrs Gilly Woods for all the support they gave the
children in achieving such success but above all we say thank you
to Mrs Shelton under whose able direction Great Horwood once again had
reason to celebrate.

Super Cook Final
Four children ‘took to the kitchen’ last Friday morning to compete in
the final stages of Super Cook, a competition that has been running now
for several years in the school.
Maddie Simpson and Hannah Bryant from Year 6, together with Evan Carter
and Amber Illman from Year 5 had an hour and a half to produce a two
course meal.
We are very grateful to two chefs from Pregs in Buckingham who kindly
agreed to come and judge the competition and after a very difficult
task, declared Maddie the winner with Evan, Hannah and Amber joint 2nd.
All four children were presented with a cook book, and Maddie was
presented with the Toby Terklesen Super Cook Trophy which was
presented for the first time by Theo in an assembly at the end of the
day.
Well done and thank you to everyone who helped make the competition such
fun from start to finish.

Sports Day 2010
Having taken part in running races yesterday morning, today the whole
school enjoyed a brilliant afternoon of sports. The sun shone throughout
and in teams of 12 all named after countries, children enjoyed taking
part in a range of exciting activities. Parents and families
provided wonderful support and encouragement while the PTA served a
range of delicious refreshments. Before Mr. Norman Ellison declared
Iceland the winners, the PTA kindly provided everyone with an ice lolly
to cool them down.
A big thank you to everyone who played a part in making the afternoon so
successful.

31st March 2010
Yesterday evening at Buckingham Upper School, Great Horwood years 3 and

all said “We really think we can win this.”
The first match was against Bourton Meadow and they played extremely
well. Great Horwood won 4-1 and Sam Bryant scored a hat-trick. The
second match was against Winslow and Great Horwood won 3-1, although
Owen Davies was on the bench, they still won as Henry Fuggle scored a
